Vex Robotics
In a team of 4 (7975A - Smooth Operators) we competed in 3 seasons of VEX Robotics, programming (using a variant of C - robotC) and building a new robot each time for a different event. In 2016 we held the national high score and became UK National Champions for the game 'Nothing But Net'; we were subsequently invited to compete in the World Tournament in Kentucky.
Each game had a 30 second autonomous period of scoring where we programmed multiple scenrio dependent sequences, and a driver controlled period which involved mapping controls to specific motors. In the build process we experimented with different drive types, different lifts and different motor placements/gear ratios to adapt our robot to the game mode.
